Farmers, Workers to Intensify Struggle, ‘Jail Bharo’ on Aug 10

At a joint convention held in Delhi recently, farmer and worker organisations announced a countrywide ‘Jail Bharo’ agitation to voice their longstanding demands.

Central trade unions, sectoral federations and the Samyukta Kisan Morcha from across the country held a comprehensive discussion on issues concerning workers, farmers, students and the general public at the National Farmers-Mazdoor Conference held at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi on July 29, 2026. The conference resolved to demand repeal of the labour codes, legal guarantee of MSP, end to privatisation, creation of jobs, social security. They said they would intensify the joint struggle against US-India trade tariffs and anti-people policies of the government. Nationwide movements, protests, and joint programmes, such as ‘jail bharo’ on August 10, were also announced.
