August 20 is the day of martyrdom of rationalist writer and social activist, Narendra Dabholkar. We are celebrating this day as 'Scientific Temper Day' i.e. a Day of Scientific Awareness. We know that today in our time and society, technology is progressing on one hand but on the other hand rationality is receding.
