Rameshwaram Pilgrimage Workers Await Govt Relief Due as Tourists Decline
The 425 theertha workers in Rameshwaram temple are out of jobs since the pandemic. They have lost their income since then, with the exception of two months in February 2021, before the second wave hit the state hard. With no relief coming their way from the government, the workers have shifted to menial jobs to save their family from starvation.
