The issue of fierce protests by Muslims against the controversial remarks on Prophet Muhammad in several cities on Friday cannot be said to be based on the larger socio-political context of the civil life of Muslim society like the CAA-NRC issue. The protests were focussed on demanding action against two leaders of the ruling party with a hateful mentality. The perspective and basis of the mobilisation were also religious.
