Draft Indian Ports Bill 2022- 'It's Against Interest of Workers and States'
The Narendra Modi-led Union government has published a draft bill on ports for consultation. NewsClick interviewed T Narendra Rao, General Secretary of Water Transport Workers' Federation of India, to understand the concerns of unions and workers in the ports. He said that the bill's provisions will ensure huge profits for big corporates. He added that the bill is also against the federal system since the Union government will encroach upon state power and revenue through it.
